A superb large rock specimen/Scholar stone (contemplation stone)with a rather unusual “volcanic ocean rock” stone formation on a lacquered wooden oriental plinth. The stone has a beautiful terracotta hue due to the large amount of iron oxide present in the specimen (which makes it Very Heavy too). It has a beautiful sculptural form and creates a fantastic focal point in any room. This stone is a fantastic size and truly museum-quality specimen. It was previously displayed in an exclusive boutique hotel in the Cotswolds. A metal support bar was added to the back at a later stage to assist with stability. This can be easily removed (3 screws) if you wish to. Dimensions: Height 104cm, Width 68cm, Depth 20cm - Very Heavy!
