Georgian bow front corner cupboard
Georgian bow front corner cupboard
£575.00
This is a delightful example of a quality late 18th-century oak and mahogany Georgian bowfront corner cabinet. The doors are tiger cut/quarter sawn oak with flame mahogany banding around. The sides also consist of quarter-sawn oak with flame mahogany top and cornice. The top is beautifully inlaid with satinwood and ebony string inlay. The doors have brass H-hinges and shield-shaped escutcheons with working (later) lock and key. The inside is finished in a lovely antique green with 3 shelves. There are 2 historical small losses to the top cornice (see photos) but does not for one moment detract from the quality and beauty of the cabinet.
