19th-Century Chinese Rosewood Travelling Apothecary Chest
19th-Century Chinese Rosewood Travelling Apothecary Chest
A fantastic example of a late 19th-century Chinese rosewood travelling apothecary's chest. The apothecary's chest features 22 drawers, 11 on each side that is revealed once you fold open the chest. Each drawer is labelled with Chinese characters, possibly for traditional Chinese medicine. The apothecary's chest has two brass carry handles on top, brass bandings on all the edges as well as decorative brass corners in order to protect the apothecary chest on its travels. Stunning piece.
